After the two bomb explosions yesterday at the Boston Marathon, Green-Rainbow Party activist Joan Livingston interviewed activists, Carlos and Melida Arredondo, who were in the VIP seating section at Copley Square when the surprise explosions occurred. A certified Red Cross worker, Carlos explains his efforts to help the first people injured in the blasts and the nature of their injuries.
The Green Party of the United States will hold a special online broadcast of President Obama’s 2013 State of the Union address TONIGHT, Tuesday, February 12th. They will host a live chat during the address. Immediately following President Obama’s remarks, Dr. Jill Stein will deliver a Green response, describing the state of the union from a Green perspective.
While official tallies won’t be certified for weeks, next-day tabulations at Google Election indicate that Jill Stein & Cheri Honkala finished fourth in the Nation with 396,684 votes, or 0.3% of the national total. This is more than twice the total of votes that the Green Party’s Cynthia McKinney and Rosa Clemente won in 2008 (161,195), and three times the total of votes that the Green Party’s David Cobb and Pat LaMarche won in 2004 (119,859).
