Forwarded from the State Chairs email list:
The LPAR had a very successful convention yesterday in Little Rock.
We elected a new Executive Committee to serve for the next two years. After much though, I made the very difficult decision to step down as Chairman and take over the role of Secretary in our party, primarily due to the time constraints of my career and the fact that the Secretary position is easily our weakest. I feel I can make that position much stronger. I want to thank everyone on this list who was always very helpful when I had questions or needed assistance. A very special thank you to Kevin Knedler who, from the moment I became Chair, offered me tremendous help and was always there, day or night, when I needed him. Thank you, Kevin!
I could not ask for a better replacement in the Chairman position. It is Jessica Paxton, my wife. She was elected unanimously. She will be a huge asset to this party and will carry the torch much further than I have been able to. The rest of the ExCom, I believe, is the strongest Executive Committee we have ever had to date. 3 of the 9 positions are held by females. Our new Vice-Chair, Kathleen Wikstrom, has been a member of the LP since 1979 and used to own Lassaiz Faire Books here in Arkansas. Our new treasurer is Dr. Michael Pakko, Chief Economist for the State of Arkansas. Watch out, guys, because Arkansas is ON THE MOVE!
