As daylight begins to shine on the fiscal cliff deal just passed by Congress, it’s clear the expected bipartisan betrayal has occurred. And even worse, it lays the groundwork for much more to come.

New York Independence Party Leaned Toward Republican Nominees in 2012

The Independence Party of New York cross-endorsed 99 Republican nominees for U.S. House and state legislature in 2012. It only cross-endorsed 46 Democratic nominees. It only had 6 nominees for U.S. House and legislature combined who weren’t major party nominees.

California Assembly Elections Committee Members Now Known

On January 3, it was revealed that the seven members of the California Assembly Elections Committee will be five Democrats and two Republicans. The chair will again be Assemblyman Paul Fong of Santa Clara County. The other Democrats will be: Raul Bocanegra, from the 39th district in the San Fernando Valley; Rob Bonta, from the 18th district in Oakland; Isadore Hall, from the 64th district in Los Angeles; and Henry T.
